Bank Mandiri Officially Achieves ISO 22301 to Strengthen Business Operational Sustainability with International Standards

ISO 22301:2019 BCMS standard aims to help organizations manage risks and ensure operational sustainability in the face of various disruptions. Through collaboration between the Bank Mandiri team and expert consultants, we have successfully implemented an effective implementation process and continuous support to achieve ISO 22301 certification.

On June 15, 2023, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) proudly announced the receipt of ISO 22301 Certification for Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) from PT British Standard Institution (BSI) Indonesia. This certification is the result of Joint Planning Sessions and Kick Off Meetings conducted by Bank Mandiri Tbk to plan and prepare for BCMS implementation.

ISO 22301 BCMS Certification reaffirms PT Bank Mandiri Tbk's commitment to maintaining excellent operational continuity and effectively managing risks in the increasingly complex banking industry. This international standard provides the best guidance and principles for planning, implementing, maintaining, and improving business continuity management systems.

To ensure readiness to face risks and maintain effective operational continuity, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk held a Joint Planning Session through virtual meetings involving relevant management teams. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the necessary steps to meet ISO 22301:2019 BCMS requirements. In intensive discussions, the Bank Mandiri Tbk management team, together with expert consultants, discussed the development and implementation of business continuity management systems in accordance with international standards.

Following the Joint Planning Session, Bank Mandiri Tbk proceeded with a Kick-off Meeting, marking the starting point for BCMS implementation preparation. The Kick-off Meeting was attended by relevant management teams from Bank Mandiri Tbk and expert consultants who would provide guidance in BCMS implementation. In this meeting, concrete steps for BCMS implementation were further discussed, including determining responsibilities, resource planning, risk analysis, procedure development, and staff training.

In this process, we ensured that operational systems and procedures were analyzed, developed, and refined to guarantee optimal operational continuity in the face of various challenges. Bank Mandiri Tbk actively identifies risks that may affect banking operations and takes proactive steps to reduce their impact. Additionally, we have developed comprehensive emergency plans to address potential emergency situations.

The implementation process and support for ISO 22301 BCMS at Bank Mandiri Tbk involved close cooperation between internal teams and expert consultants. The expert consultants assisted in developing policies, procedures, and emergency plans in line with ISO 22301 standards. They also provided training to staff to enhance understanding and awareness of business continuity management.

This BCMS implementation process not only strengthens the framework for facing risks and emergencies, but also demonstrates Bank Mandiri's commitment to protecting customer interests and trust. In a banking industry heavily reliant on service reliability and security, ISO 22301 BCMS certification reaffirms the quality of Bank Mandiri Tbk as an institution prepared to address risks and ensure operational continuity.

On June 15, 2023, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) officially received the ISO 22301 BCMS Certificate from PT British Standard Institution (BSI) Indonesia. The certificate presentation was attended by the Bank Mandiri Tbk team, representatives from PT BSI Group Indonesia, and business consultants from Proxsis Consulting. The certificate was presented by Mr. Made, Head of BCMS at PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero), in recognition of Bank Mandiri Tbk's success in meeting international standards.

“With this certification, it means that Bank Mandiri has implemented international standards to ensure business continuity and mitigate the risk of operational disruptions, thus ensuring seamless customer service (Product Governance),” stated SVP Business Continuity Management Bank Mandiri I Made Wahyu Arjaya in Jakarta, Friday (6/16).

Furthermore, the certification was awarded to several critical work units that are key in Bank Mandiri's business. Some of the critical work units certified with ISO 22301 include the Business Continuity Management Unit, Information Technology, Treasury, Cash and Trade Operations, and Electronic Channel Operations.

As a result, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) has strengthened its framework for facing risks and emergencies. This also shows Bank Mandiri's commitment to maintaining reliable operational continuity, ensuring that customers experience trustworthy and high-quality services.

“By implementing BCMS as part of the business process, we hope to enhance resilience and ensure the achievement of objectives in facing various conditions that threaten business continuity, thereby maintaining stakeholder confidence and realizing Bank Mandiri's vision as the primary financial partner,” concluded Made.
